This training program is is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of LGBTQ+ rights, with a focus on the historical significance of the Stonewall riot, the evolution of marriage equality, and many other important moments in time. The training will delve into the broader context of LGBTQ+ advocacy, exploring various issues faced by the community beyond marriage rights.

- Gain comprehension of the various rights that have been won and lost by the LGBTQ+ collective.
- Learn about current LGBTQ+ local and national issues.

- Historical Context:
- The Stonewall riot: Understanding the events of June 1969 and their impact on LGBTQ+ rights movements.Â
- Milestones in LGBTQ+ history: From the AIDS crisis to the fight for anti-discrimination laws, participants will gain insight into significant moments that have shaped LGBTQ+ advocacy.
- Marriage Equality:
- The journey towards marriage equality: Tracing the legal battles and social movements that led to landmark decisions such as Obergefell v. Hodges.
- Impact and implications: Exploring the effects of marriage equality on LGBTQ+ individuals, families, and society at large.
- Beyond Marriage:
- Intersectionality and LGBTQ+ rights: Examining how factors such as race, gender identity, socioeconomic status, and disability intersect with LGBTQ+ experiences and rights.
- Current issues and challenges: Addressing ongoing struggles for equality, including transgender rights, healthcare access, workplace discrimination, and youth homelessness.
