In today's diverse workforce, creating an inclusive environment that respects and values all individuals, including LGBTQ+ employees, is essential for the success and growth of any organization. The "Recruiting and Retaining LGBTQ Talent" training program is designed to equip HR professionals, managers, and team leaders with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to attract, recruit, and retain LGBTQ+ talent effectively.

Objectives

  1. Increase understanding of LGBTQ+ identities, terminology, and experiences.
  2. Learn nuances and effective strategies for recruiting for LGBTQ+ individuals.
  3. Develop practical skills for creating safe and affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ colleagues.
  4. Foster empathy, respect, and understanding towards LGBTQ+ individuals and their experiences within the workplace.

Components

  1. Understanding LGBTQ+ identities and terminology: Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the diverse spectrum of LGBTQ+ identities, terminology, and experiences, fostering a more inclusive and respectful workplace culture
  2. Legal and policy considerations: Exploring relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to LGBTQ+ rights in the workplace, participants will learn how to ensure compliance and create an environment that supports equality and fairness.
  3. Inclusive recruitment strategies: Strategies for reaching and attracting LGBTQ+ candidates, including inclusive language in job postings, utilizing diverse recruitment channels, and establishing partnerships with LGBTQ+ organizations and communities.
  4. Cultivating an inclusive workplace culture: Participants will learn how to foster an inclusive and supportive environment where LGBTQ+ employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work.
  5. Addressing bias and discrimination: Identifying and addressing unconscious bias and discrimination in recruitment, hiring, and promotion processes, participants will learn how to create equitable opportunities for LGBTQ+ employees.
  6. Supporting LGBTQ+ employees: Providing resources, support networks, and allyship programs to help LGBTQ+ employees thrive and succeed in the workplace, participants will learn how to create a supportive ecosystem that promotes employee well-being and engagement.
  7. Retention strategies: Implementing effective retention strategies to ensure that LGBTQ+ employees feel valued, included, and supported throughout their tenure with the organization, reducing turnover and maximizing productivity.
