Plexus
A point of connection and through Plexus we want to connect the LGBT Business Community and Allies by providing proactive business development.
Our Name and Logo
Many names, to represent the chamber, were discussed but the two senses of the word plexus seemed to be appropriate and it was picked as our brand.
Plexus as a chamber of commerce for the LGBT community and its allies can be thought of as network. One facet of our mission is to help businesses in this network improve, develop, and grow.
The larger business community is also a network. Connecting, or interlacing, these two networks is the other facet of Plexus’ mission: advocating to the larger community to be aware of and use the products & services of the LGBTA community; and, providing the means to connect the communities.
The Chamber’s logo includes the word plexus but graphically the lines represent the communities coming together with the top & bottom segments of the letter x as arrowheads. Plexus thus becomes the point of connection and interaction for the communities. In the color version of the logo, the LGBT community is represented by a magenta arrowhead bringing to mind the symbol of gay liberation, the pink triangle.
